Payal was born in Banjara Hills, Hyderabad, India November 9, 1978. She was born in Rohatgi and Shashank Rohatgi Veen. She has a brother named Gaurav Rohatgi. She grew up in Ahmedabad. Her education was Udgam school and completed her engineering from LD College of Engineering, Ahmedabad. She participated in the Miss India contest Child (2002) and was influenced to join the entertainment industry.

It has gained popularity thanks to a reality TV show Big Boss in color and also won the Miss Tourism World in 2002 in Medellin, South America.

Movies
Payal Rohatgi began her career with Harry Baweja Kya Ho Raha Yeh Hai (2002) and also appeared in a number of low budget films. It was a small role in a multi starrer film 36 China Town, where she was seen opposite Paresh Rawal and then played a daughter element in the company. Payal played a leading role in the film Priyadarshan comedy Dhol (2007), where it was considered contrary to Arbaaz Khan.

She was paired with Ranvir Shorey in Ugly Aur Pagli, which was published in 2008 and has also signed a film opposite Irfan Khan kabbadi diol where she plays a gymnastics instructor.

She played the comedy show Comedy Circus - Sony Chinchpokli in China. She also appeared in many ad films, one of them has been with Dabur Lal Cricket Dantmanjan Virender Sehwag and Amitabh Bachchan to advertise the Eveready battery.

 Payal has opened a website where people the chance to talk with the person, mail, download pictures of her, so she signed a son Bollywood film which is about 26 terrorist attacks / 11 in Mumbai, where she will play the role of a journalist.
There is also a social activist and has worked actively for the benefit of alcohol and drugs and participated in the World Day against Drugs in June 26. She also works for an NGO called Jeevan Dhara in Mumbai.
