Asin after positioning himself as a star in the South Indian film industry, which strives for a repeat performance in Bollywood with Ghajini, is a step in the right direction.
Basics Asin
Thottumkal Asin was born on 26 October 1979 in Kochi, Kerala to a Syrian Christian family. Her father Joseph Tottumkal an entrepreneur is now her manager. Her mother is Starigrad Paklenica Thottumkal, a surgeon by profession.
Asin studied at the Naval Public School and St. Theresa's Higher Secondary School. She folded her education with a degree in English literature from St. Theresa's College.
She helped her father in her business, which was different, ranging from software exports. She has also modeled and appeared in advertisements for Colgate toothpaste and Fair Ever Cream.

2001-2003
Asin on the cameras when she is in Malayalam film Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka (2001) is fifteen. Her 2003 Telugu film Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammay Shivamani won her Filmfare Best Telugu Actor Award and Best Actress award Santosham respectively.
2004-2006
She continued to work in Telugu as Lakshmi Narasimha hits and Gharshana in 2004. She returned a hit to deliver the Tamil film M Kumaran son of Mahalakshmi. Although not Chakram Ullam Ketkumae, Sivakashi and Majaa hits were in 2005. The Tamil movie Ghajini, also released in 2005, was a very successful and gave her the Filmfare Best Tamil Actress Award. Her two films in 2006 Varalaru, a Tamil film and Annavaram, a Telugu film was successful.
2007-2009
Asin in 2007 achieved two out of three when Pokiri and did well, while Skin Aalwar underperformed. Kamal Hassan's Dasavatharam scene in 2008 was again a hit with Asin playing Andaal Kothai Radha. In the same year her debut in Bollywood with the Hindi version of Ghajini Aamir Khan lead. Vipul Shah's London Dreams, released in 2009, told her to have as a leader with actors Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan.
