Bhavana has come a long way from her debut in Nammal. The actress, the most-watched films in Malayalam, has also acted in Tamil and telugu movies.

Karthika Balachandran (Bhavana) was born on 6 June 1986 in Thrissur, Kerala, India. His nickname is Kaathi. His parents and Pushpa G. Balachandran, a cinematographer. He has an older brother, Jayadev.Bhavana's Film Bhavana made her entry into cinemas Nammal (2002), which won her the Kerala State Special Jury Award, when she was in another eleventh grade. The year 2003 was good for Bhavana with several hits like Chronic Bachelor, CID moosa and Swapnakoodu.
While Parayam (2004) and Bunglavil Outha (2005) failed in beautiful, she was successful films like Naran (2005) and Chandhupottu (2005). In Chithiram Pesuthadi (2006), a Tamil film, she played Charu, an NGO worker who falls in love with a rogue, and try to change him. His performance won him a Film Fare Best Female Debut Award Tamil and Tamil Film Fare Best Actress Award.
Following this success, worked Bhavana in Tamil films like Veyil (2006) and Arya (2007) and Vaazthugal (2008). Her Malayalam movies like Twenty 20 (2008) and Lollypop (2008) is excellent.
Bhavana's forthcoming film in 2009 is Sagar alias Jackie and Robin Hood.
